The Spellier rifle features the use of interchangeable percussion
and cartridge cylinders. When the percussion cylinder is used, a
spring-loaded block is placed between the ¬hammer and the nipple
to transmit the force of the hammer to the nipple. The rimfire
cartridges are struck directly by the hammer. Spellier rifles show
beautiful workmanship and came equipped with a special loading block
for the percussion cylinder. Less than 25 were made. |
